Before it was ours for a weekend, Tocarema belonged to generations.
1938
A Colombian landmark
The story begins in the years when Girardot was becoming one of Colombia's great crossroads. Connected to the country by river, rail, and road, the city had become a gateway between Bogotá and the warmer lands beyond it.
Out of that moment came the idea for a grand hotel: not simply somewhere to sleep, but somewhere to arrive, gather, and stay awhile.
1952
Tocarema opens its doors.
Built above Girardot, Tocarema became part of a new era of Colombian travel. Through its doors came leaders and politicians, artists and families, travelers escaping Bogotá's cold, and generations returning to the warmth of Girardot.
Its tables held celebrations. Its rooms held conversations. At night, its halls filled with music. Orchestras played porros and cumbias, including names woven into Colombia's musical history.
Over time, Tocarema became more than a hotel. It became a place where Colombia's social, political, and cultural life quietly crossed paths.
It became a witness.
More than seventy years later
And now, us.
We love the idea that a place can remember. Somewhere inside these arches are traces of every arrival, every long dinner, every song, every celebration that came before ours.
And on one weekend in December, we get to add something small to that history.

December 4–6, 2026
For a few days, Tocarema becomes home.
You'll come to Girardot from different cities, different countries, different flights and different roads. Then all of those separate journeys will end here.
We'll find each other over breakfast. Meet beneath the arches before leaving for the church. Come back as the sun goes down. Eat together. Celebrate together. Stay up too late. And the next morning, we'll find each other again.
For one weekend, almost everyone we love will be only a few doors away. We can't think of a better way to become part of Tocarema's story.
